This handbook is ideal for preparing undergraduate essays. It was specifically designed with the average student's needs in mind. The book is intended to cover the vast majority of situations that the normal student will encounter while writing a college essay.
Organized for speed and brevity, the book is primarily a concentrated, up-to-date guide on APA format (11 pages) and documentation requirements (12 pages In-Text, 19 pages References) with a heavy emphasis on examples and visual aids (90 to be exact). Additionally the book contains pointers on how to get started, what to document, what notes to take (by source type), and how to handle quotes of varying length. All of this in a book designed to fit in a shirt pocket.

Comment: I wore this book to a rag while getting my masters degree. It literally fell apart and has been glued back together. It's a great little reference. The size makes it very handy. The only fault I can find with it is that it doesn't include film and music citation formats. For regular formating, books, internet and journals, it is great! Absolutely worth the money.

Comment: I am currently in education core classes where APA is a necessity. This little pocket book is concised and just the right size to be placed in a binder or in a laptop bag pocket. This is a must have for students who are in teacher programs or in psychology majors who have to write in this format.

Comment: I'm pursuing my degree online and this book is great for quick, general references without the aid of another web page. However, this book doesn't list the information needed when citing the source on the reference page, it simply shows you what it would look like. The problem with this is the fact that we all know that books, articles, web pages, and every other source you can think of is not referenced the same. In every other aspect though, if you only had a word processor and no Internet, this book would help you get the paper written correctly.

Comment: I was expecting a thicker more complete handbook, even though it's pocket sized. Not sure this one will do any good, I will simply have to purchase the full APA manual now.
